Como House - Thomas Archer Homes
One of the highlights of my job as an Interior Stylist is developing the colour, style and finish selections for my favourite local Builder Thomas Archer Homes. I spend a day with these client's to bring their dream home to life - a home to not just live in but love.
I recently completed the interior design and styling of Thomas Archer Homes newest home design - the Como 40 so I thought I would take you on a tour to have a sneak peak inside...
This beautiful home is a clever and sophisticated design and layout that positions open planned living spaces across the entire rear of the house creating a seamless indoor-outdoor entertaining transition. Generous room proportions coupled alongside well balanced internal detailing results in a harmonious light filled contemporary residence. Oversized bedrooms are all strategically placed throughout the upper floor to achieve a sense of privacy for a growing family. A soaring void towards the centre of the home connects a children’s activity room with the busting heart of the home as well as flooding in natural light and a vast sense of space.
I really wanted this home to be a reflection of the way a modern family would live and use the space. The design was carefully considered to allow a connection between the shared spaces and also allow seperate areas for a family at varying ages to have their own private space. The open plan layout downstairs creates a real sense of celebration and togetherness while a formal lounge and study at the front of the home are tucked away to give designed areas for a peaceful retreat. The finishes in the home have been selected to give big wow factor while keeping the budget of the home affordable. Clever uses of marble tiles like the splash back in the kitchen and the extra large concrete look porcelain tiles in the bathrooms give it a real sense of luxury and make it very on trend. It was important while the interior design felt on trend, it had to have a timeless appeal so a minimal colour palette of cool greys, whites and pops of black were designed to make it current but last the test of time. The styling in the home was designed to give it a welcoming feel in a minimal way. Sophisticated use of soft colour with a base colour scheme of greys gave it a high end feel whilst keeping it accessible. Texture through rugs, furniture and soft furnishings gives the home a luxe feel and cool look. Feature pendant lighting in the kitchen and stair void finish the home off drawing the eye to these special features of the home.
The Como by Thomas Archer Homes will be OPEN every weekend until the end of May check their website (here) for full details and take a walk through yourself.
