Country Road collaborates with Redkite to support kids with cancer
As a mum of two young children I can't even imagine the strength it must take to battle a life-threatening illness with your kids. I was so happy to hear that one of my favourite Aussie brands, Country Road is collaborating with Australian cancer support charity Redkite by offering limited edition kid’s tees and totes in the lead up to Christmas, and they are not only for a great cause but they're gorgeous too!
Redkite is an Australian charity committed to providing quality, essential support to all families affected by childhood and young adult cancer. A partnership that has spanned eight years, Country Road is a proud partner of the initiative that assists families at the point of diagnosis, through treatment and beyond. Each family Redkite reaches receives a diagnosis support pack, gifted in a custom Country Road tote.
This year Country Road has collaborated with artist Miranda Skoczek to reinterpret the charity’s kite design across a custom tee and 2 custom totes. As Redkite is entirely dependent on corporate sponsorship and the generosity of everyday Australians, the limited edition watercolour designs will be available to purchase in store from November 29, just in time for Christmas.
Darren Todd, Country Road’s Managing Director says of the initiative, “Since partnering with Redkite, Country Road has raised over $1 million and donated 4,700 support packs to families facing cancer. Last year Country Road’s donations to Redkite totalled over $147, 000 generated through customer, employee and corporate fundraising. In February 2016 our employees packed 700 support packs for the Redkite Red Bag Program. The latest collaboration featuring Skoczek’s artwork launches in November, with all proceeds (excluding GST) from every tote or tee sold donated to this important charity.”
Redkite General Manager Monique Keighery says of the collaboration, “During the Christmas period, over 270 families in Australia will be told their child has cancer and hundreds more will be undergoing treatment or facing cancer’s impacts. Country Road customers are giving a gift twice when they buy a beautiful Redkite Country Road tee or tote bag for families and friends this Christmas, as they are also supporting families going through the toughest time imaginable.”
Country Road’s collaboration with Redkite signifies Country Road’s commitment to supporting Australian families while raising awareness for an incredibly worthwhile cause.
The Country Road Redkite tees and totes are available at select stores nationwide from November 29. www.countryroad.com.au
